19 Unit Conversion, Orchard House, Worsley
Client: Crofter Developments Ltd
Work Stages: RIBA 1 - 4 Contractor: Casey Developments Ltd Completion: Summer 2016 |
Planning and listed building consent gained for the demolition, repair, extension and conversion of the Grade II listed Orchard House to provide 19No. town houses including the associated provision of vehicular access, car parking and landscaping. Orchard House itself dates from 1932 and was constructed to accommodate the functions of the Lancashire Mines Rescue Station.
The brief was to create a total of 19 family dwellings for sale on the open market to secure the long term future of the building as it had fallen into a serious state of disrepair. In addition to design, responsibilities included detailed 3D Revit modelling and negotiations with both Salford Council and English Heritage. The new red brick extensions at first floor level were sensitive in scale, character and appearance to the original building and its surroundings. Project undertaken whilst at Pozzoni Architects. |
