Farm Extension, Marple Bridge

We secured planning consent for a modern extension to this traditional stone 2 storey farm house in Marple Bridge, Stockport to provide an additional contemporary living/ dining space to the ground floor maximising views out across the surrounding countryside from its elevated position in the rural landscape. The new side extension incorporates a modern asymmetrical mono-pitch roof, large expanses of glazing, and a more modern, whilst still natural, materials palette in order to differentiate old from new. Internally the reconfiguration of the existing ground floor plus the new extension seeks to re-orientate the property thereby allowing the inhabitants to benefit from additional south facing sunlight and accomodation.
