The 4 storey complex is dementia friendly and includes independent living apartments and specialist households providing 24-hour nursing and dementia care. Support is also available on a daily basis through the ‘day club’ which specialises in supporting people with dementia to give carers a break and includes use of village centre amenities such as the bistro and exercise studio. Specific cultural requirements, such as separate milk and meat kitchens, were incorporated into the design and required close consultation with the community and its leaders.
