Refurbishment of The Farrars Arms, Grasscroft, Saddleworth
Client: New Muse Ltd
Completion: Summer 2017 Work Stages: RIBA 1 - 2 Role: Interior Designer |
Due to previous redecoration, renovation and branding the Farrars Arms had unfortunately lost its quaint pub charm. Subdued dark seating areas, bland wall finishes, and drab furnishings had created an un-welcoming and uninspiring venue.
Design proposals sought to reinstate the rich oak timber panelling to one of the main rooms creating a 'Gentleman's Club' aesthetic with an open fire, easy seating and piano playing soft music. The other main room has more of a 'Sports Vibe' with additional TV's and Sports Licence. The design reinstates the old - worldly character of the pub by uncovering previously blocked fire places, original stone mullions and other interesting features. Large comfy seats upholstered in navy leather sit on a rich classical pub carpet against timber panelled or natural stone walls. This aesthetic contrasts a more modern tile to the bar area to create an enticing and homely atmosphere that complements the new farm house style menu on offer. |
