RESIDENTIAL
Restoration + Extension of Ruin, Top O'th Scar, Buckstones Road, Shaw
Completion: On site
Work Stages: RIBA 1 - 4 Role: Architect |
Full planning permission was granted for the repair and restoration of an existing dwelling house in a serious state of ruin with additional two storey ad single storey side and rear extensions and detached garage.
The existing stone farm building, located on a prominent position on the hillside at the top of Buckstones Road, Shaw had over the years fallen into a serious state of disrepair. Our brief was to re design and enlarge the property to provide a 5 bedroom dwelling with open plan contemporary living spaces at ground floor. Large glazed bi-folding doors and first floor balconies seek to maximise the views over the surrounding landscape whilst increasing the amount of natural light entering the building. A number of different options were produced for the client before arriving at the final design. |
